Having cancer is often one of the most stressful experiences in a person's life. However, support groups help many people cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by providing a safe place to share their feelings and challenges. They also allow people to learn from others facing similar situations.
Few condition can make a person feel as lonely as chronic pain. Nobody else--families, friends, or doctors --can see it or feel it. Nobody knows what you're going through except, of course, other people with chronic pain. That's why support groups are so worthwhile. They allow you to connect with others and share your experiences.
Cancer and chronic pain seem to go hand and hand along with other life altering illnesses. You do not have to do this alone!
